What is waxing?

Waxing is a form of hair removal which removes the entire hair follicle from the root. Results vary from person to person and can last anywhere from 2-6 weeks.

How long should hair be before waxing?

This depends on your hair type about a 1/4in. for finer hair and 1/2in. for course hair or to play it safe allow 3-4 weeks of growth.

How often should you wax?

Waxing regularly is essential. For best results, we recommend waxing every 4 weeks. Waxing causes hair to grow back sparse in some areas, finer and softer over time and eventually doesn't grow back for some people.

Can you shave between appointments?

Shaving between waxing appointments is discouraged as this disrupts the hair growth cycle and it is possible you will not have enough hair or hair to short to wax.

Does hair get thicker from waxing?

It's physiologically impossible for hair to grow back thicker. However, your hair may grow in differently after waxing if you're going through hormonal changes ex: puberty, pregnant or menopause, taking medications, some birth controls could cause a change as well.

What are ingrown hairs?

Ingrown hairs form when dry skin cells block the surface opening for hairs growing back after waxing.  When the hairs fail to grow out of the skin, it curls inside the follicle underneath the skin resulting in foreign body reaction causing an unsightly infectious bump.

What helps prevent ingrown hairs?

Exfoliating, it  removes dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin, a coarse body mitt or body brush can be used on the skin after your waxing session, exfoliating is a must, dry or wet. Start exfoliating 3 days after your wax session and continue 2-3 times a week.

Are there any contraindications for waxing?

Yes, Sensitive skin can burn from waxing procedures. Accutane, Retin-A or Tretinoin are drying to the skin therefore, waxing may lead to skin removal, which may cause scarring. Waxing over sunburned or very tanned skin may lead to skin removal, which may cause scarring. Diabetics have a very hard time healing when a wound or lesion occurs to the skin, as the immune system is unable to fully function to fight bacteria. Allergies to any of the product ingredients used in waxing may cause severe allergic reaction.

What is Lash or Brow Tint?

We use a vegetable base dye to either lighten or darken lashes and brows. Tinting gives the lashes definition and allows you to go without mascara. This can last 2-6 weeks
